Afghanistan- 2 Bamyan security men held over harassing girl


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) BAMYAN CITY (Pajhwok): Two senior security officials have been arrested in central Bamyan province over allegedly sexually harassing a 19-year-old girl, an official said Tuesday.

Crime branch police chief Jalil Waseq told Pajhwok Afghan News local officials informed police on Monday that a young girl was being sexually harassed in a police ranger vehicle in Dara-i-Folad locality.

Police quickly acted and arrested the girl, police officer Ali Jafar aka Ali Bukuk and intelligence officer Bahman and brought them to the police headquarters.

During investigation, the girl acknowledged that she was sexually harassed by Ali Bukuk.

Waseq added the case had been registered and sent to the Attorney Office for further investigation.

Syed Abdul Qader Hashami, the appellant attorney officer, confirmed their office had received the case involving three accused. The two men accused were put behind the bars and the girl was sent to the Safe Home.

'We cannot say the girl is sexually assaulted or not. Still the accused officers had not been questioned. The results would be unveiled when the investigation is completed,' he added.
