Jordan- House panel discusses Penal Code draft law


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Dec. 5 (Petra) -- The Lower House's Legal Committee on Tuesday discussed the amended Penal Code draft law and an agreement on legal assistance between Jordan and Australia.

MP Hussein Qaisi, who chaired the meeting, which was attended by Justice Minister, Awad Abu Jarad and a number of officials, said that the committee discussed a number of articles related to the law, which aim at curbing offences committed against employees in the line of duty.

As for the legal assistance accord with the Australian government, he said, it aims to consolidate efforts to prevent crime, taking into consideration human rights, the rule of law and the Jordanian-Australian relations.
