Living wage in Kazakhstan increases

The living wage in Kazakhstan amounted to 23,319 tenge in November 2017, which is 9.4 percent less than in the previous month (25,738 tenge), the Ministry of Economy of Kazakhstan said in a message.

The average minimum wage per capita, calculated on the basis of the minimum norms of consumption of basic foodstuffs, increased by 8.4 percent in October this year, compared to December 2016, and by 10.2 percent, compared with the corresponding period of of the previous year.

The share of expenditures the wage minimum for the purchase of meat and fish amounted to 21.7 percent in previous month, dairy, fat and egg products - 17.2 percent, fruits and vegetables - 10.6 percent, bread and cereals - 8.2 percent, sugar, tea and spices - 2.3 percent, according to the ministry.
