Will the cultural city of Aleppo ever be reconstructed?

(MENAFN)Diana- a young woman from Aleppo, Syria, who now lives in London- got really emotional and felt nostalgic as she saw the her family's ancient home and others like it in Al-Siffahieh in the Old City of Aleppo.

"(They) look really good, but they don"t feel like home," she said expressed how hard it is to see your old house but not feel it is your home.

"We loved the vintage, washed-out stones because they were material evidence of the glorious past, which gave Aleppo's ancient city an exotic air." She added.

Aleppo's Old City was transformed into a battlefront after the eruption of the Syria war in 2011, for most of the four years from 2012 to 2016, and its historical sites that presented culture and heritage were completely damaged or destroyed.
