
Turkey's armed forces rescue Iranian border guards attacked by terrorists

The Turkish Armed Forces rescued four Iranian border guards who were attacked by militants of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) terrorist organization on the Turkish-Iranian border in Turkey's Igdir province, the Turkish media reported Dec. 5.
Reportedly, the wounded Iranian border guards were taken to the hospital. One of them died in the clinic.
Other details of the incident have not been reported.
The conflict between Turkey and the PKK, which demands the creation of an independent Kurdish state, has continued for more than 30 years and has claimed more than 40,000 lives.
The UN and the European Union list the PKK as a terrorist organization.
