AMMAN —AlGhad— The Court of State Security (CSS) today, Monday, sentenced one of the five defendants in the Rukban terrorist attack case to death by hanging, and the other four to prison. Found guilty of terrorism and accessory charges, three were sentenced to prison time and hard labour.
The fourth was sentenced to two years in prison, for illegally crossing into Jordan from Syria.
Back in June, 2016, the terrorist group ISIS claimed responsibility for an attack against a frontline Jordanian military position in Rukban, on the borderline with Syria.
The attack led to the martyrdom of seven Jordanian soldiers and 15 injuries.
Shortly afterwards, the Jordanian military intelligence agency were able to apprehend the defendants close by, and uncovered that they have concocted with the terrorists to carry out the attack.
