UAE- Indian business body to honour 11 prominent Emiratis

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Leading businesses in UAE will invest in the Indian government's Swachh Bharat (Clean India) initiative, with a special focus on providing clean toilet facilities to women in rural India.

Bindu Suresh Chettur, president of Indian Business and Professional Council (IBPC), revealed to Khaleej Times that this move is part of IBPC's constant endeavours to strengthen the bilateral relations between India and the UAE as well as strengthen its engagement with the UAE business communities.

Chettur also revealed that IBPC will now be the official nodal point of contact for all business and trade purposes between both nations, and will work in collaboration with Prof Richard Hay, a member of Indian Parliament.

Chettur spoke to Khaleej Times on the sidelines of a press meet where IBPC announced its plans to celebrate the UAE National Day. She added that the IBPC will honour 11 prominent UAE nationals at a formal ceremony today at the Le Meridien Hotel Dubai. "This is the first such initiative by the IBPC and it is in line with our efforts to strengthen our close relationship with the UAE and Emirati brothers and sisters," added Chettur.

Richard Hay told Khaleej Times that he is very keen to see India-UAE bilateral relations improve, especially increased investments in the Swachh Bharat initiative, as well as in MSME's (micro, small and medium-size enterprises). "Small and medium businesses are the future of India and UAE, and will truly catapult the financial future of both nations into success," he added.

Other sectors which Hay expects an increased investments are education, IT, and health.
