UAE flag raised in London

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Representatives of the Dubai Police in the United Kingdom launched an initiative to raise the UAE flag in the British airspace, as part of the 46th UAE National Day celebrations.

The first-of-its-kind initiative with a helicopter led by Captain pilot Hamad Mohammed Al Mazrouei was coordinated by Lieutenant Abdullah Ahmad Sheikh, a student scholarship representative.

The UAE National Day celebrations in the UK began with the UAE national anthem in the presence of Sheikh Salem Al Mazroui, member of the National Council, Azza Suleiman, deputy director-general of the Department of Administration, a number of diplomats and public. It was followed by the dazzling performance of three helicopters, cheered by the country's students and academics.

The Royal Ascot track was the chosen venue as the track had seen many global achievements of the UAE horses from the stables of "Godolphin".

The Dubai Police had recently adopted a strategy to activate the role of the Dubai Police emissaries as ambassadors of the country and to transform national initiatives into reality abroad. The Dubai Police currently has 252 overseas students.
