Pakistan- Ration distributed among 50 displaced families in South Waziristan
Mehsud Tahaffuz Movement, a youth organisation in South Waziristan, distributed the food items among the displaced families at a ceremony in Fateh Mor area. The food items included ghee, sugar, pulses, black tea and other edibles. Manzoor Mehsud, a representative of the welfare organisation, said food items have been distributed among few families, while many other families still need help and they are waiting to get assistance.
Ayub, a person who received ration, said his family is displaced for the last three weeks, but the government or any other organisation has not extended any help to him.
At least 204 families have been affected due to ongoing operation in Shaktoi area which was launched on 8 November. Operation Rah-e-Nijat was launched in South Waziristan in 2009, but Shaktoi having population of 50,000 was not cleared.
Political Agent Zafarul Islam Khattak said these displaced people will soon get assistance like other TDPs.
