Studio Executive Slapped with Lawsuit

(MENAFNEditorial) GEORGE TOWN, Cayman Islands, Dec. 1, 2017 /PRNewswire/ --Rodric David, CEO and founder of Thunder Studios in Los Angeles, is being sued as part of his past business dealings when he was a resident of Australia. The claim was filed in Cayman Islands court in mid-November. The plaintiffs in the lawsuit, Charif and Tony Kazal, were also granted discovery this week against David in California when a California federal judge ordered that David may be questioned under oath and be required to turn over records to attorneys in the Cayman Islands.

David's former business partners, Charif and Tony Kazal, of Global Renewables Limited, a clean energy business, allege in the suit that David misrepresented the company's value when it was sold to Ironbridge Capital, a Sydney private equity firm in 2011. The pertinent claims include allegations of breach of fiduciary duty and conspiracy in acting in concert to injure the economic interests of the Plaintiffs.

Thunder Studios has been involved in such films as 9/11 starring Charlie Sheen and Whoopi Goldberg, a Rihanna music video, Progressive Insurance commercials and TV miniseries production.
