(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The UAE is built on strong foundations and is proud of its past. We will prepare for the future today, not tomorrow, said the President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on the occasion of National Day. In his statement, the President also said the country rejects any foreign interference that undermines the security of the region.
He said the country has been successful as it appreciates cultural and human diversity which is a "key engine for sustainable development and a means for deepening the culture of openness, dialogue, communication and coexistence, and the denunciation of intolerance, extremism and intellectual isolation".
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said happiness is a way of life in the country.
"Strong bonds of solidarity between the people and their leadership shield the nation against those trying to stop the country's march to a prosperous and sustainable future - a future where the UAE plans to become "second to none".
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, said the UAE has done well to contribute to the enrichment of human civilisation.
