Eid Miladun Nabi celebrated


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Eid Miladun Nabi, the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), was celebrated yesterday across Pakistan with zeal and fervour.
The day started with a 31-gun salute in the federal capital Islamabad and 21-gun salute in provincial capitals to pay homage to the Prophet.
Celebratory processions took place in all parts of the country and in Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
Government and private buildings were lit up.
Streets, mosques, shrines, shopping centres and houses were also colourfully illuminated.
Special conferences, events and Mahafil-i-Naat were arranged across the country: at the provincial headquarters as well as at other cities and towns.
Religious scholars highlighted various aspects of the Prophet's life and called on people to follow his teachings.
Special prayers were held for progress and prosperity of the country.
Pakistan Television, Radio Pakistan and other media houses aired special programmes underlining the different features of the Prophet Muhammad's life.
