UAE- Etisalat to issue statement on TRA 'late payment fee' notice

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) After UAE's Telecommunications Regulatory Authority's (TRA) took notice of Etisalat's message about charging a fees on late payment of bills, the telecom company has said that it will soon issue a statement regarding the matter.

Earlier on Thursday, TRA responded to reports regarding Etisalat's message about charging from subscribers starting from December.

A notice issued by the TRA said that after being alerted about the report circulating online - the telecommunication company to stop sending such messages and posts.

Etisalat has also been asked to submit relevant documents for scrutiny before they can charge these new fees.

TRA is awaiting an official reply from the telecom company to begin due procedures.

Talking to Khaleej Timeslate on Thursday, an Etisalat spokesperson declined to comment on the issue and saidthe company will issue a statement regarding late payment fees soon.

Meanwhile, du has clarified that the company has no plans to charge late payment fees.
