Geneva, Rabi'I 13, 1439, December 01, 2017, SPA -- UN Special Envoy to Syria Staffan de Mistura thanked the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its initiative and efforts at the second expanded meeting of the Syrian opposition, which succeeded in uniting the opposition and forming an expanded delegation to the Geneva negotiations on Syria.
De Mistura told a news conference that the eighth round of negotiations would resume on December 5 and would continue until mid-January, pointing out that UN Security Council has directed in all tracks, either in Geneva or elsewhere to focus and prioritize issues of the Constitution and elections under the full supervision of the United Nations, noting that the only reference to the political process is the Geneva talks.
