Turkish parliament OKs innovation in security system in airplanes

The Turkish parliament has approved an innovation in the security system in aircraft that envisages accompanying some flights by armed officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkey, said the country's parliament in a message Dec. 1.
This decision was made as part of measures to ensure the safety of passengers.
Earlier, Turkey's Minister of Transport, Maritime and Communications Ahmet Arslan said that it is planned to introduce an innovation in the security system in the structure of air transportation in Turkey that envisages accompanying some flights by armed officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
A similar practice exists in a number of countries, he added.
