Kuwait- OPEC cmte meets to examine oil output cuts
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) VIENNA, Nov 29 (KUNA) -- An ad hoc committee tasked with overseeing an OPEC deal to limit oil production convened on Wednesday, led by Kuwait's oil minister Essam Al-Marzouq, to review progress on the agreement.
As the OPEC/non-OPEC Joint Technical Committee meets, key issues on the agenda include oil prices and progress over output reductions, in addition to the feasibility of a possible extension of the OPEC deal in a bid to maintain stability in the global oil market.
The OPEC exporters reached the current deal last December and have already extended the agreement once through March of 2018.
The meeting comes a day before oil ministers from OPEC and non-OPEC member nations will meet to decide on whether to extend output cuts beyond March of next year. (end) mk.nam
