Ajyal Film Festival honors late Kuwaiti actor Abdulredha


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) DOHA, Nov 29 (KUNA) -- The Qatari Ajyal Film Festival honored Wednesday the late iconic Kuwaiti actor Abdulhussain Abdulredha in recognition of his unforgettable works which enriched Gulf arts. An honorary award was presented to Abdulredha's son Bashar during the inauguration ceremony of the festival by Hamad Al-Kawari, an advisor to Qatari Amir's Diwan.

"I am delighted to honor the late Kuwaiti, Gulf and Arab movie and theater legendary," Al-Kawari said while handing over the award to Bashar.

He added that Abdulredha's great works would remain a vivid remainder of Kuwait and its artists' leading cultural and artistic role in the region.

For his part, Bashar expressed appreciation of Qatar and the festival organizers for their initiative.

He recalled that Qatar had a special place at his father's heart and that he had performed several of his plays there.

The six-day festival features family-friendly short and feature-length films, including fiction, documentaries, and animated films. (end) nnd.ibi
