WHO chief hails special ties with Kuwait


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) GENEVA, Nov 29 (KUNA) -- Kuwait and the World Health Organization (WHO) share an exemplary relationship based on mutual understanding, the UN health agency's director general Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus said on Wednesday.

Speaking to KUNA after meeting with Kuwait's permanent delegate to the UN Jamal Al-Ghunaim, he valued Kuwait's support of aid programs allocated to needy Syrians, many of which were Kuwaiti-funded.

He also commended Al-Ghunaim for keeping abreast of WHO's latest activities, while the Kuwaiti envoy described his country's ties with the UN body as tightly-knit.

Kuwait's permanent delegate to the UN added that he was appreciative of WHO's efforts to serve humanity. (end) ta.nam
