Turkish police to arrest 333 soldiers involved in Gulen coup

(MENAFN)Turkish state media reported Wednesday that Turkish police are searching in 49 cities to seize over 300 soldiers accused of attempting the insurgency that broke out last year.

State-run news agency Anadolu said that the Istanbul public prosecutor issued arrest warrants for 360 people accused of following US-based Muslim cleric Fethullah Gulen in the Turkish armed forces.

27 civilians were also part of the people suspected of being so-called "secret imams" who are alleged to be responsible of Gulenists in the military.

Anadolu said that the police managed to detain two of the soldiers in the northern city of Zonguldak.
