(MENAFN)Australian police managed to capture two teenagers who said they were planning an attack using guns and explosives on and intending to kill multiple people.
Authorities were reported of the plot that targeted the school in South Australia's fruit-producing Riverland region, northeast of Adelaide, earlier this month and took the two young men into custody soon afterwards.
They have been accused of planning "an attack at a school involving the use of firearms and explosives which could have led to multiple deaths," Said detective Superintendent Des Bray.
"There is no doubt in my mind that we prevented a catastrophe," he added.
"We believe most likely the attack would have occurred, if not stopped, before the end of the current school term (in mid-December)." He concluded.
