Popular Arab actress and singer Shadia dies

Doha: Arab popular singer and actress, 86-year-old Shadia passed away in Cairo on November 28, 2017, after falling into coma recently following a brain haemorrhage.

After starring in 110 films and several musical plays since her debut in 1947, Shadia gave up both singing and acting in the mid 1980s.

Shadia was born in Egypt in 1931 as Fatima Ahmed Kamal. She was famous for her roles in light comedies and drama in the 1950s and 1960s.

Her first appearance was in the film el-Aql Fi Agaza, and she retired after her last film La Tas'alni Man Ana.
