Doha International Book Fair opens at QNCC

The Minister of Culture and Sports H E Dr Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali opened the 28th Doha International Book Fair today under the slogan "Towards a Conscious Society" at the Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC). The fair is open to public until December 5.

The opening was attended by HE Dr Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari and a number of ambassadors and diplomats.

This year the book fair is hosting 29 Arab and foreign countries attracting around 400 publishing houses from across the world.

The book fair will showcase a total of 18185 titles out of which some 15423 are Arabic and 2762 titles in other foreign languages. The book fair has an online guide in Arabic and other foreign languages and includes titles and names of the publishing houses.

Germany is the guest of honour of the exhibition as part of the Qatar-Germany 2017 cultural year celebrations.
