Iraq to benefit from US aid to quell tensions with the Kurds

(MENAFN)A Christian community in the Middle East is preparing to reoccupy its ancestral towns in Iraq after the defeat of Daesh.

Bashar Warda, the Chaldean Archbishop of Irbil, hopes President Donald Trump uses his powers to redirect US aid to the war-affected people.

Christians would try to curb tensions on frontline between Iraqi and Kurdish forces, he pointed out in an interview in Washington with AFP.
