Turkey to send first train to Azerbaijan via BTK railway today
The first train will be sent today from Turkey to Azerbaijan via the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway, the Turkish media reported on November28.
Reportedly, the train will arrive in Baku within 96 hours.
The first freight train was sent via the new BTK railway from Kazakhstan's Kokshetau on October 24. The train consisted of 32 containers loaded with grain.
The BTK railway was constructed on the basis a Georgian-Azerbaijani-Turkish intergovernmental agreement.
The railway's peak capacity will be 17 million tons of cargo per year.
