Qatar, Turkey and Iran discuss boosting trade

A tripartite meeting between the ministers of Qatar, Iran and Turkey held yesterday in Tehran discussed aspects of joint cooperation in the fields of economy and trade.

The meeting was attended by Qatar's Economy and Comemrce Minister H E Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, Iranian Minister of Commerce, Mohammad Shariatmadari, and Minister of Economy of Turkey, Nihat Zeybekci.

Sheikh Ahmed also held a separate meeting with his Iranian counterpart to enhance economic and trade relations. Sheikh Ahmed and the accompanying delegation met with Iranian businessmen and executive heads of companies to discuss issues of mutual interest and increase in trade exchange with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The meeting agreed on the need to pay attention to the development and promotion of trade exchange between the two states and overcome all the obstacles that prevent it, taking advantage of the trade opportunities available to both countries.

The Minister also met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif.
