US says Russia targeted systems during 2016 elections
(MENAFN) US Homeland Security Department official said that Russian hackers targeted 21 U.S. state election systems in the 2016 presidential race while small number were beached out there was no evidence any votes were manipulated.
The department's acting deputy undersecretary of cyber security was testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee.
However, intelligence agencies in US said the Kremlin led an influence operation that resulted in email hacking and online propaganda to discredit Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and help Donald trump in his campaign.
