Date:

(MENAFN) The Philippine decision to stop development assistance from the EU was a present of the country's independent foreign policy, whereas the poor and conflict-hit Southeast Asia country is willing to decline by USD 278.88mn of grants.

Accordingly, in October in the previous year the fire band leader dared Europe and U.S. to remove development assistance if they do not agree with this drug war policy.

Moreover, the EU has enhanced Manila's effort to end almost 50 Muslims rising in a conflict that has killed more than 120.000 people and exiled 1m.

Therefore, Europe bestowed Philippine 130mn euros in development assistance by 2007-2013, whereas in 2015 it pledged 325mn euros over four years to finance project in Muslim Mindanao after Manila made a peace deal with rebels in March 2014.
