NATO leaders deeply concerned by use of torture of Ukrainian citizens in Russia


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The Heads of State and Government of the NATO member nations expressed deep concern over the use of torture and the transfer of Ukrainian citizens to prisons in Russia.

This is stated in the Brussels summit declaration issued by the Heads of State and Government participating in the meeting of the North Atlantic Council in Brussels on July 11-12, 2018, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

'We are deeply concerned by the use of torture and the transfer of Ukrainian citizens to prisons in Russia, reads the declaration.

The leaders of the Alliance stressed that 'the importance of the safety and full and unhindered access for the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Special Monitoring Mission, up to and including the Russia-Ukraine border.
