Algeria's Islamic Council praises Fatwa forbidding Sunni Muslims insults

(MENAFN) Algerian Supreme Islamic Council has praised a religious edict, Fatwa, of which Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei issued banning the insult of personnel revered by Sunni Muslims.

The 2016 Fatwa has been welcomed by the council as a step closer towards improving the unity of Muslims, as TSA Arabic website reported.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution issued in 2016 a decree forbidding insult towards Aisha, the wife of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and any of the figures and symbols celebrated by Sunnis.

"Insulting figures and symbols celebrated by Sunni brethren, including the wife of the Prophet of Islam [Aisha] is prohibited. This includes the wives of all prophets, particularly the master of all prophets Muhammad (May God's greetings be upon him and his household)," as stated the Leader.
