(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The Embassy of India in Muscat has announced the second edition of 'Bharat Ko Janiye' quiz.The quiz is being organised by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs to encourage diaspora youth to enhance their knowledge about India.
The quiz also offers a chance to the participants to win a 15-day tour of India and several other exciting prizes. The quiz is open to overseas Indians, including Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) between 15-35 years of age. Topics of 'Bharat Ko Janiye' quiz, which will be conducted in two separate categories of participants, NRIs and PIOs, will include Indian art, democracy, economy, geography, personalities in music and dance, science and technology, languages and literature, education, traditional crafts, cinema, and renowned personalities.
The quiz will be conducted in four rounds. The first round will be conducted online for NRIs and PIOs in Oman, a press release stated.
The online quiz can be taken at www.bharatkojaniye.in from June 28 to July 28. Advance online registration is mandatory to participate in the quiz. Top three participants from Oman, in each category of competition (i.e. NRIs and PIOs), in the first round of the quiz, will be awarded by the Embassy of India, Muscat.
They will also qualify for the second round of 'Bharat Ko Janiye' quiz. The second round will be conducted online for all NRI and PIO winners of the first round from across the globe. Top ten worldwide finalists, in each category (PIOs and NRIs), from the second round, will be invited to participate in the third round/semifinal round and fourth/final round to be held in New Delhi.
They will be provided airfare and hospitality for their participation in New Delhi.
They would also be invited to join 'Bharat ko Janiye Yatra', a 15-day tour of India. The top three winners in final round will be awarded gold, silver and bronze medals respectively and a certificate at the 15th Pravasi Bhartiya Divas (PBD) Convention 2019, which will be held fromJanuary 21-23in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, under the theme 'Role of Indian Diaspora in building a New India'.
