Beirut, Sha'ban 28, 1439, May 14, 2018, SPA -- Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia inaugurated here today an exhibit under the title: Shawahid, the first of its kind, to be held, in Lebanon.
The exhibition included rare stamps, from the collection of the Lebanese Deputy President of the World Academy, in order to open a new chapter, to refresh the collective memory and history binding the two countries, especially, in the field of stamps.
Saudi Charge D'Affaires to Lebanon Waleed bin Abdullah Bukhari, opened the exhibit, in the presence of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states' ambassadors and other diplomats accredited to Lebanon, in addition to a host of cultural, media and socialite Lebanese elite.
Addressing the ceremony, Bukhari valued the postal collection displayed, during the exhibit, calling it a reflection of the basic and official collective memory for the two brotherly countries and dating their bilateral relations, through such rare post stamps, issued during the reign of the founder King Abdulaziz Al Saud, through the visit of late King Saud bin Abdulaziz to Lebanon, during the presidency of President Kameel Shamoun, up to the time of King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
Such an exhibit embodies the embassy role, in activating the intellectually mobility, a matter it used to enrich, since inaugurating of the 1st Saudi-Lebanese Cultural Forum, in November 2016, in Beirut and other cultural initiatives and functions that followed, Bukhari concluded.
