Algeria expresses regrets over strikes against Syria


(MENAFN) Algeria's prime minister said his country regrets the strikes that the US and its allies launched on Syria.

During a press conference, Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia declared "Algeria regrets the strikes that targeted Syria."

The Algerian prime minister then revealed "we have been expecting to send an international fact-finding panel to Syria to probe the the reality of the use of chemical weapons there."

Prime Minister Ouyahia also said that Algeria "recommends and encourages a political solution to solve the Syrian crisis."

He then emphasized that "military action would only deepen the conflict in this Middle Eastern nation."
