Sayyed Nasrallah: US offered money to forgo resistance

(MENAFN) Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah says that the United States offered to give money to Hezbollah in order for it to step out from the path of resistance, being disparate after the numerous attempts to destroy the movement.

The Hezbollah head made the remarks during an electoral rally in the town of Nabatiyeh on Sunday, calling for a high turnout in Lebanon's upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled to be held on May 6.

Nasrallah said the United States, Israel and their regional allies have been conspiring against the resistance movement since the 2000 liberation of southern Lebanon from the Israeli occupation.

"We were offered money and to be part of the authority in Lebanon on condition that we cede resistance," he said, noting that "My fault at that time was that I didn't accept to take his paper, so that it would be a proof now."
