Jordan- Chief Islamic justice meets ELCJHL leader


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, April 5 (Petra)- Chief Islamic justice Sheikh Abdul Karim Al-Khasawneh received on Thursday the Archbishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Holy Land of Jordan and Palestine (ELCJHL), Sani Ibrahim Charlie Azar, and the head of the Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Amman, Samer Azar.

During the meeting, Al-Khasawneh briefed the guests on his department's achievements and the key development of the Sharia judiciary aimed to boost the community security network as rights of women and children are protected.

He said Jordan is a country of Islamic-Christian harmony as bonds of brotherhood are cherished.

For his part, Azar lauded the Hashemite guardianship over the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem to preserve them from any tampering, and expressed appreciation for brotherly relations, tolerance and moderation among faiths.
