Qatar Rail completes 77 percent of Doha Metro Project work


(MENAFN) Qatar Rail was confirmed to have reached a 77 percent completion rate in Doha Metro Project, while it prepares to commence Phase One Red Line on October 31.

Managing director and chief executive of Qatar Rail Abdulla Al Subaie explained the first phase to cover 81 percent of construction along with 59 percent systems installations.

The chief revealed the main Msheireb station to be serving 100,000 passengers per hour, as it provides the greatest capacity.

He explained "other stations are divided into two categories with the capacity of 60,000 and 30,000 passengers per hours. This event is part of series of workshops being organised by Qatar Rail with Civil Defense officials to ensure the security of metro project."
