Transport Minister meets ITU secretary-general

(MENAFN - Gulf Times) HE the Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Seif Ahmed al-Sulaiti met in Doha yesterday with the secretary-general of the International Telecommunication Union, Houlin Zhao. The two officials discussed aspects of co-operation in the field of ICT and means of further enhancing them. They also discussed co-ordination on Qatar's requirements for satellite system affairs (Es'hail 2) as well as enhancing and intensifying relations between Qatar and the ITU, the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) said in a statement. Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) president Mohamed Ali al-Mannai also attended the meeting. The senior ITU official also visited CRA and its National Monitoring Centre, which monitors spectrum usage as well as the Qatar Assistive Technology Centre, Digital Incubation Centre, Qatar Computer Emergency Response Team and Government Contact Centre, where MoTC experts and specialists briefed him on these programmes and projects.

Moroccan justice minister meets NHRC chief
Moroccan Minister of Justice Mohamed Aujjar met the Chairman of the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) Dr
Ali bin Smaikh al-Marri in Marrakesh yesterday.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed means of enhancing co-operation on issues of human rights as well as exchange of expertise. The National Human Rights Committee (NHRC), represented by its chairman, is participating in an international conference organised by the Moroccan Ministry of Justice, the Supreme Judicial Council and the Moroccan Public Prosecution, entitled 'Independence of the judiciary between guaranteeing the rights of litigants and respect for the rules of justice.

Farewell reception for South Korean ambassador

Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr Ahmed bin Hassan al-Hammadi held a farewell ceremony in honour of the outgoing South Korean ambassador Park Heung Kyeong in Doha yesterday.
A number of heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Qatar and officials at the foreign ministry attended the ceremony that was held at the Diplomatic Club.

Real estate transaction
Real estate transactions in Qatar between March 25 and 29 at the Ministry of Justice's real estate registration department stood at QR418,342,943. The weekly bulletin released by the real estate registration department at the Ministry of Justice said that the list of properties that were traded by sale includes open plots of land, houses, residential buildings, multi-purpose buildings and a multi-purpose open plot of land which are located in the municipalities of Doha, Al Rayyan, Al Daayen, Umm Salal, Al Khor, Al Thakhira, Al Wakrah and Al Shamal.
