Morocco pledges to support peace in Africa


(MENAFN) Morocco has declared that it will increase efforts to promote peace and security in Africa, as the country is about to start a two-year term at the Peace and Security Council (PSC) of the African Union (AU).The Moroccan Foreign Ministry emphasized the multiple complex security challenges that Africa goes through, which require joint and concerted action as well as an unwavering commitment by African countries.According to the ministry, this goal will only be achieved through political stability, respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states, as well as the consolidation of the rule of law in Africa.It also said that the common African agenda should focus on urgent and priority conflict and crisis situations, which make a real threat to peace and security in Africa, promoting a comprehensive and inclusive approach.
