Russia: US relations unlikely to get any worse

(MENAFN) Russia has responded to President Trump's decision to sack Rex Tillerson as Secretary of State, saying ties with the US could not have it any worse.

When inquired about the US administration reshuffle, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented "it's hardly possible to fall below the floor, so it is unlikely things will get any worse in this regard."

The spokesman then added "in any case, there of course remains the hope of a constructive and sober approach to bilateral ties. There is always this hope."

It comes following Rex Tillerson's dismissal on Tuesday and having his successor chosen to become CIA Director Mike Pompeo.
