(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) PARIS, March 9 (KUNA) -- European aircraft manufacturer Airbus Industries announced on Friday it had been awarded a USD 273 million contract to supply helicopters to the US army.
The contact comprises UH-72A "Lakota" helicopters that perform various missions such as patrol, homeland security, rescue, troop and VIP transport and light cargo carriage.
Airbus said that since 2005 it has supplied 412 "Lakotas" to the North American market from its US production site in Columbus, Mississippi.
