(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The State Council last week hosted a visit by the president of Italian CASD (Centre for Defence Higher Studies) Lt Gen Massimiliano Del Casale and his delegation.
Lt Gen Del Casale and his accompanying delegation were welcomed by H E Salim Mohamed Masoud al Riyami along with several members of the council, stated a press release.
H E Riyami wished them a successful visit and hoped that it would strengthen bilateral cooperation between the friendly countries.
During the meeting, H E Riyami praised the close relations between the sultanate and Italy.
The president of Italian CASD and the delegation were given a detailed presentation on Omani governance, its history, vision, mission, strategic goals and main effort.
Since its establishment, the State Council has proved to be a valuable cooperation partner to the Majlis A'Shura.
H E Riyami detailed the role of the State Council in the implementation of development plans, which contribute to the consolidation of the intrinsic values of the community and to the preservation of its achievements and to the principles laid down by the basic statute of the state.
The reception was attended by H E Sheikh Nasser bin Said al Haddabi and H E Dr Said Mubarak Said al Muharrami.
