Philippine hit with protest against bloody war on drugs




(MENAFN) Philippine has been overflowing with about a thousand Catholic civilian who demonstrated in Manila, protesting a violent war on drugs and President Rodrigo Duterte's attempts to restore the maximum punishment.

The protest has hit the country one day following a protest against the president by students and universities.

It also struck one day following the 32nd anniversary of the "People Power" revolution that pushed for the banishment of Dictator Ferdinand Marcos.

Protesters have held banners and signs that had demands written on them, such as "End Impunity," "Stop the Killings" and "Protect and Defend the Sanctity of Life and Marriage."
