Israel approves construction of 3,000 settlement units in Jerusalem


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Ramallah, Feb. 22 (Petra)-- The Israeli municipality of Jerusalem, late Wednesday, approved a new plan to build around 3,000 new settlement units in southern Jerusalem, Haaretz daily reported on Thursday.

According to Haaretz, the new units will be built on 280 dunums of land, most of which is privately owned by Palestinians, located between the illegal settlement of Gilo, north of Bethlehem, and the Tunnels Road south of the occupied holy city of Jerusalem.
