US Vice President calls for North Korea pressure to continue

(MENAFN) U.S. Vice President Mike Pence has emphasized the importance "to continue to isolate North Korea economically and diplomatically."

The Vice President claimed after attending the Olympics' opening the US and South Korea to still be in agreement over tackling the North's nuclear program.

He stated "there is no difference between the United States, the Republic of Korea and Japan on the need to continue to isolate North Korea economically and politically until it abandons its nuclear and ballistic programs."

In a post on Twitter, Pence also insisted that "as a precondition for any dialogue," North Korea is needed to "put on the table (the subject of) nuclear disarmament."
