Syria: 100 people killed in US-led coalition

(MENAFN) The US-led coalition stated that pro-government armed groups attacked the headquarters of the "Syrian Democratic Forces" (SDF), in which the American advisers were, after which a retaliatory strike was struck against the Syrian Arab Army.

"Syrian pro-government forces initiated an unprovoked attack on the headquarters of the Syrian Democratic Forces on February 7. The coalition soldiers were acting as advisers, assistants and escort forces together with SDF partners during the attack eight kilometers east of the agreed conflict prevention line on the Euphrates River, - said in the message of the command.

100 people were killed during the air strike and about 500 people were involved from the Syrian government forces with the support of tanks, MANPADS, mortars and artillery.

Earlier, the Syrian opposition accused the Syrian government of using chemical weapons on in Khan-Sheikhun city of Idlib province and killing 80 people.

The US, without demonstrating any evidence of the guilt of the Syrian military and not listening to Russia's call for a thorough investigation, struck at the Syrian military base Shayrat on the night of April 7.
