(MENAFN - Morocco World News) Rabat - Mohammed V mosque will be reconstructed as part of Al Hoceima's 'Manarat Al Mutawassit' development projects, according to a statement issued by Al Hoceima's provincial prefecture. Earlier this week, Moroccan news outlets reported that the reconstruction of the mosque started on January 24. The statement said, 'To respond to information reported by the press about the launch of the reconstruction and extension of the Mohammed V mosque in the city of Al Hoceima, the reconstruction and extension of this mosque is included in Manarat Al Mutawassit project launched on October 17, 2017.' The statement, which was reported by Maghreb Arab Press, added that the mosque project is being implemented under the auspices of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs. The mosque was placed on the list of the planned projects for Al Hoceima after several laboratories carried out a technical examination. The examination revealed that the building 'constitutes a danger for the safety of worshippers' who perform daily prayers at the same mosque.
