India are inching closer towards their 4th Under-19 World Cup after a comfortable 131 run victory over Bangladesh in the quarterfinal of the tournament.

Having won the toss, India decided to bat first and posted 265 on board with Shubman Gill top scoring for the boys in blue.

In reply, Bangladesh were bowled out for 134, helping India set up a semi-final against Pakistan.

India were superior both with the bat and ball.

Despite losing Manjot Kalra early, captain Prithvi Shaw and Shubman Gill set the tone for India.

India lost Shubman, who scored 86, in the 35th over which saw a resurgence as Bangladesh pulled things back, bowling out India for 265.

Shubman and Abhishek Sharma posted half-centuries for the boys in blue.

When India returned to the field with the ball, India piled on the pressure early.

The fielders were agile and kept things tight and won India two run outs.

A middle order collapse saw things turn the game in India's favour.

Nagarkoti was the stand out bowler for India picking up 3 wickets while Shivam Mavi and Abhishek Sharma bagged two each.


India to take on Pakistan in semi-fnals

Rahul Dravid's young lads are yet to be beaten in the tournament.

India are now set to take on Pakistan in the semi-final of the mega tournament on 30th of January.

This is the 7th time that India have reached the semi-final of the Under-19 cricket World Cup.

Shubman Gill has been the star performer for India.

The youngster from Punjab is only the 6th player and the second Indian cricketer, after Gaurav Dhiman, to score five consecutive fifty-plus scores in youth ODIs.

India's captain, Prithvi Shaw missed out on his 4th consecutive fifty as he was dismissed for 40 today.
