(MENAFN) Yemen's Deputy Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Nizar Basuhaib, has started the humanitarian response plan for 2018 in Yemen, valued at a total of USD2, 962,000,000, in cooperation with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that Dr. Basuhaib expressed thanks and appreciation of all partners, including the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSRelief), and the Emirates' Red Crescent (ERC), for making the plan a success.
Displaced refugees will receive medical care, education, water and services according to the plan which involves many stages and targets 22 million people, including 11 million of the most needy.
Dr. Basuhaib underlined the need to focus relief efforts, in areas, most affected, as they are under the control of the forces and militias loyal to the coup, where the aid does not reach the actual needy groups.
