Used books bazaar open to public at Kuwait Nat'l Library

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Jan 16 (KUNA) -- A second-hand and rare books bazaar kicked off at the National Library of Kuwait on Tuesday as part of the Al-Qurain Cultural Festival's various activities and functions.

The three-day event, co-organised by the National Council for Culture, Arts and Literature and Kuwaiti Writers Association, includes rare and priceless books across a wide array of topics.

It will give the public the opportunity to take a first-hand look at these rare treasures and buy them for "extremely reasonable" prices, the library's director-general Kamel Al-Abduljaleel said in a statement.

Opening times are spread across morning and evening hours, said the director, in order to attract as many visitors as possible.

The event is not targeting financial gain, stressed Kuwaiti Writers Association secretary general Talal Al-Rumaidhi, but rather to achieve a community goal of spreading culture.

The association will host its own second-hand book bazaar at its main office in Al-Adailya on January 28, which will last one week. (end) shd.sd
