U.S. Ambassador to Panama resigns over inability to serve under Trump

(MENAFN) The U.S. Ambassador to Panama has stepped down from his post due to his inability to work under President Trump.

The ex-helicopter pilot for Marine Corps John Feeley declared he was "honour-bound" to quit.

His resolution to resign was made aware of within the U.S. Department of State in the end of December.

In his resignation memo, the ambassador declared "as a junior foreign service officer, I signed an oath to serve faithfully the president and his administration in an apolitical fashion, even when I might not agree with certain policies. My instructors made clear that if I believed I could not do that, I would be honor bound to resign. That time has come."
