Pakistan- CM Zehri resigns amid growing political crisis


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri on Tuesday resigned from his post after Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi failed to resolve political crisis in the province.

According to media reports, Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai has accepted his resignation. Balochistan's lawmakers have expressed a lack of confidence in the CM citing unfulfilled commitments. Besides, ministers and advisers had recently turned dissidents that sparked a series of resignations and sackings.

PM Abbasi has reportedly advised Nawab Zehri to resign after Baloch opposition leaders rejected his invitations for a meeting, during which he was expected to attempt garnering some support for the beleaguered CM.

Leader of the Opposition Maulana Abdul Wasey claimed that they had decided not to meet the prime minister, explaining that he and his followers could not ride two boats.
